Pokemon FRLG (Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen) is coming to Nintendo Switch. Pokémon Day is only a week away, and fans will have something extra to look forward to while celebrating 30 years of Pokémon—the Pokemon FRLG games will be available to download from Nintendo eShop after the conclusion of the Pokémon Presents beginning Friday, February 27, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. PST. These classic remakes of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green bring the same adventure to Switch.
Pokemon FRLG (Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version) were originally released for Game Boy Advance in 2004. This Nintendo Switch release of Pokemon FRLG will contain much of the same Kantonian charm. Players will be able to revisit the classic story and Pokémon of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue with the updated graphics you know and love, complete with the excitement of the Sevii Islands introduced in Pokemon FRLG. Players can also look forward to trading Pokémon, battling each other, and more using local communication.
Whether you enjoyed Pokemon FRLG over 20 years ago or are picking up Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen for the first time, we hope Trainers will enjoy exploring the region that got everything started!
